About Allyson

Hi! My name is Allyson and I was raised in Ithaca but recently moved back from Minneapolis, where I am studied child development at the University of Minnesota while working as a substitute paraprofessional in elementary special education. Previously, I worked at a Wisconsin daycare as the primary teacher for the toddler classroom (12 to 24 months), and I frequently substituted in the infant program as well. I discovered my love of working with children while doing work study at Tompkins Cortland Community College's Montessori-based childcare center as part of my education class. Outside of work, I enjoy art and spending time outdoors, which are both things I encourage in my work with children, as I do my best to foster creativity and learning through hands on activities. Having a diverse background in childhood education and care, I am comfortable and confident supporting a wide variety of individual child and family needs! I am also Red Cross certified for Pediatric First Aid/CPR.
