About Allyson
After working for the YMCA's aftercare program where I spent time helping children do their homework, I am able to help a variety of age ranges complete their assignments. Not only was I able to academically support young students in a one on one setting, I had the privilege to connect with them emotionally. In doing so, I was able to create a safe and positive environment that allows them to make mistakes, ask questions and take a chance. From this experience I learned the importance of building this safe space in order to foster greater learning and understanding.
