About Allison

I'm eager to help students achieve their academic goals! For the past four years, I've taught high school English, creating engaging and supportive learning environments. I adapt my teaching methods by observing how students interact with new material and varying my strategies with visual aids, activities, and discussions. I connect challenging topics to real-world examples and celebrate successes. Communication is essential to understanding student needs and building trust. As a certified teacher experienced with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and student accommodation plans (504), I can help with English and study skills at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing a student's confidence grow. I'd love to help your student find that "aha!" moment, and I'm happy to tutor at your home, a center, library, or coffee shop.
