I am very patient and experienced at working with individuals with special needs. I was a volunteer climbing coach with the NAC and helped teach kids with physical and mental special needs. Throughout high school, every semester I took peer tutoring and was able to be very involved with lots of peers of different abilities and have built lasting relationships with all of them in and outside of school. This past summer I was a nanny for a 16-year-old down syndrome boy and absolutely fell in love. Working with those with special needs and different abilities has completely changed how I view the world. They have taught me so much about patience and unconditional love. Because of the amazing experiences, I have had with these sweet kids, in the fall I am planning to go to college to major in special needs education to further my understanding of how I can help them and what I can learn from them. The compassion I have receive from these sweet kids has changed my life. I am so so grateful.
