About Alison

Hi! My name is Alison. I started working with kids when I was about 13, babysitting for family friends, then nannied for my neighbors through high school. When I went to Stony Brook, I continued into formal childcare settings, working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. My strongest experience is with infants. I've helped with feeding, diapering, naps, daily routines, play-based learning, and social development. Most recently, I worked as an Infant Assistant Teacher, where I helped care for up to 8 infants, kept detailed daily logs, followed safety procedures, and helped keep the classroom calm, clean, and organized. I also have a degree in Astronomy and Planetary Science, and I love bringing curiosity and creativity into childcare. In my free time, I like astronomy projects, crocheting, and drawing, so I enjoy finding simple, hands-on ways for kids to learn, play, and explore. I'm patient, reliable, attentive, and always value clear communication with parents.
