About Alison

I have a TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) Certificate and have tutored students of all ages and abilities as a paid professional and volunteer. I love helping students gain confidence in their English language speaking, reading, writing and overall communication skills. My goal for every lesson is to make learning fun, interesting and useful. I do this by focusing on individual students' unique language needs, learning preferences and goals. I have resources to help students with their English pronunciation, grammar, speaking, reading, writing, spelling and vocabulary skills. I can also help students study for their American citizenship and other exams. My interest in teaching English language skills stems from my desire to make life easier for immigrants and refugees as they adjust to living in the United States. I am kind, compassionate and respectful at all times, and to be trustworthy so students feel comfortable during our lessons.
