Experience: 10 yrs
I have over 15 years of nanny and child care experience. I earned a B. S. in Early Childhood Ed & a B. A. in English Lit. I taught for 8 years in early childhood classrooms before taking on a lead teacher role at a Nature-Based Forest & Farm school for 5 yrs then running my own homeschool & mind•body coaching biz. I have an interest in nurturing the well-being of the children I care for; utilizing teachable moments, encouraging healthy habits, and allowing an outlet for discovery while catering to curiosities. I'm very interested in infusing life experience and encouraging positive self concept. I love to encourage kids to think outside the box, to connect with themselves, be in nature, and enhancing learning through play. I have abundant experience teaching young children yoga, mindfulness, and stories with movement. I love to do arts and crafts projects, sing and dance, cook and bake, read, and do all sorts of outdoorsy activities with kiddos. It really brings me joy!
We first met Ali as my son's preschool teacher, and he loved her so much we ended up using her as a babysitter for years for both of our children. She has a way of relating to kids on their level and making them feel comfortable and heard. She is so patient, and always had time to listen to the kids and encourage their ideas. Besides just trusting her to watch them for us and be reliable as far as scheduling, we knew she'd also be actively playing with them and have crafts and games ready to go. I can't recommend her enough, especially if you have kids who may be slow to warm up or be anxious, I have no doubt they'll be comfortable with her in no time!
