Hi! My name is Alina. I have 6+ years of experience working with children with special needs through families I've connected with on Care. com, along with lifelong experience growing up with my brother who is autistic and nonverbal. I have strong experience supporting RPM and letter board communication methods, helping children express their thoughts, needs, and ideas when verbal communication is difficult. I'm also experienced in supporting children through behavioral challenges and aggressive outbursts, using calm, patient approaches to help them regulate emotions and feel safe. For the past 4 years I've worked as a special needs nanny, helping children build communication skills, explore hobbies, stay active, and develop independence at their own pace.
