About Alicia

I have worked at a Montessori, baby-sat children of all ages, and assisted with raising some of my nephews and nieces. I have found that children are the best learners I have ever seen! Anything and everything they see around them they learn from. I also I believe in being a role model and a positive influence for children at such an impressionable time. I find children to be a joy around, even when they are at their worst. I have always been able to connect with children and have strong, positive relationships with them. At the Montessori, we taught children how to read and write, took them on field trips, taught appropriate play, and healthy eating. I was always amazed at how much they loved to absorb all that was around them! This is still a place that I have come back several times to visit since I left because I believe in teaching them that just because someone is leaving, doesn't mean they are gone forever. You build relationships with children and I believe it's important to show them how much they mean to you and to others by coming back and seeing them. They remember me and most of all they remember me coming back to see them when no one else has. My baby-sitting experience has had a wide range of ages, and multiple children, with household chores and cooking as well. I have taken care of infants, twins, and two plus children at a time. I love being able to do this because it gives the parents a much needed break, to go out with friends or their significant other. Sometimes it's a class as well, but it is always a need for parents to have someone reliable to call on for help in those situations, which I enjoy being able to help.
