I have worked from September 2019 - October 2020 at Maria Parham Hospital as a patient sitter. I was monitoring patients that was mentally ill, disabled, had dementia, thoughts of hurting themselves and others and Alzheimer's. I preventing them from hurting themselves or leaving the hospital while under doctor's care. I worked closely with the doctors and nurses making sure to report any changes in the patient behavior. I made sure that they would eat and take bath's. When necessary I would be in the hospital room with the patient over night and during the day for 12 hours making sure they wouldn't get out of bed and hurt themselves by falling. In 2021 I worked with 2 totally disabled young adults. My duties were bathing. feeding, washing their clothes, dressing, assisting with doctor's appointments, preparing their exercise plans for the day, feeding them through their feeding tubes, giving them their medication and keeping them safe from falling.
