I think Alexis blends a valued amount of authority with a large amount of heart. She loves to play with my child and gets him laughing while keeping him respective. I tend to lack the balance of authority and friend/parent. I am the too nice mom that gets no ear when needed. She definitely has a way of balancing the two earning his respect. He laughs when they play and listens when it's time. It's a skill I hope rubs off on me.
