About Alexis

As a Special Education Resource Teacher, I provided one-on-one and small group instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including those with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and other exceptionalities. I designed and implemented individualized instructional plans aligned with students' IEP goals, using evidence-based strategies and multisensory approaches to support reading, math, writing, and executive functioning skills. I collaborated closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure consistent support across settings, and regularly monitored student progress through data collection and formative assessments. My tutoring sessions emphasized building confidence, fostering independence, and closing academic gaps through targeted intervention.
