About Alexis

Hi! My name is Lexi, and I'm a former first-grade teacher with two years of experience teaching English Language Arts, focused on early literacy, phonics, reading comprehension, and early writing skills. I hold a Bachelor's degree from UCLA and a Master's degree from USC. I currently work in education advocacy, partnering closely with LAUSD, where I support students in learning how to use their voices and stories to advocate for themselves. This work has strengthened my ability to connect with students, build confidence, and support learning in a patient and encouraging way. As a tutor, I specialize in ELA support, including reading, phonics, writing development, and essay help. I'm also comfortable assisting with elementary-level math if needed. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to learn.
