About Alexis

I'd describe my personality as caring, nurturing and reliable. I currently work at a daycare facility coordinating the curriculum and leading the preschool and After School care for over 24 children. I have 2 consistent years of caring, teaching, mentoring, tutoring, setting up daily/ weekly activities. I like tutoring because I get to introduce and encourage the development of skills for children that need assistance. I am confident in my ability to help and I love seeing the smiles on the children's faces when they grasp a concept. I started tutoring when I was 7 years old in the second grade as a peer tutor. One thing you should know about me is that I always acknowledge and actively listen to each individual child in order to better assist with tutoring. My skills include patience, communication, active listening, lesson planning, student engagement and adaptability to learning styles.
