About Alexa

My name is Alexa, and I am hoping to become a nanny during the summer. I've just finished my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Family studies from John Carroll University. I will be starting in a graduate program at the University of Akron and hope to earn my Master of Education degree in School Counseling and work with school children. I began babysitting at age 15 and have continued in childcare on/off for the past 8 years. I worked as a youth counselor in a residential treatment facility with adolescents aged 11-17 before going back into an education-related setting working at a childcare center as an assistant teacher and gaining experience working with children as young as 6 weeks to 12 years old. I am CPR/First Aid/AED Certified with tutoring and pet care experience. I enjoy exploring different topics and curricula through fun and creative lesson plans/activities for all ages to enjoy.
