About Alexandra

Alex was recently with us for more than 1 and 1/2 years (9/2023-4/2025) as a full-time nanny for our second son, aged 4 months to just shy of 2 during this period. She also periodically took care of our other son (now 4), who was in preschool at the time, during school breaks, days he stayed home, date nights, etc. I am still disbelieved how fast her time with us flew by and that I am writing this in the past tense! We do not simply consider Alex ‘our past nanny,’ but more so family. Alex is a shining light in the childcare arena and in life in general. During my caretaker search in the summer of 2023, I had already spoken in depth with two candidates and was planning to choose between one of them. Alex ended up messaging me prior to my making the decision. I decided to speak with her and throw a third candidate into the mix. Throughout my initial conversation with Alex, I felt extremely comfortable. It was as though I’d known her for years. She knew exactly what she was looking for and demonstrated she was flexible to our needs (varying schedules between my husband and I, the fact that I would be working from home 2-3 days/week, etc.). It was also immediately evident how much caretaker experience Alex had under her belt. I also learned she had nannied in the past for my Midwife who had just delivered my son and couldn’t help but think “Is this meant to be?!” Alex and I talked for over an hour, and I was excited to meet with her in person. Amidst our initial meet-up, after feeling her calming, humble presence, and witnessing her interact with our children, I knew we had to seal in the deal before someone else did! The 1 and ½ years she was with us were filled with joy. First and foremost, Alex showed our son a tremendous amount of love and cared for him as she would her own child. She greeted him with warmth and joy as soon as she entered our home each day. Alex was always fully engaged in activity with him, whether they were sitting on the floor playing, engaging in hide and chase around the island, enjoying a meal together, reading books, getting (him) dressed, and even changing his diaper. Alex took our son out daily, many times on walks to the local park and library. Once he could walk, she also took him to fun places that were driving distance, such as the bounce house, mall, children’s museum, and several other parks. She kept our son in a consistent routine as far as snacks/meals, nap, and activity go, and knew how to handle him at his best and worst. She was never flustered. Alex was also highly enthusiastic and involved with our older son during her time with him, and he loved every moment spent with her. Outside of her relationship with our children, Alex also developed a wonderful relationship with my husband and me. She is so easy to talk to about anything. Alex is always so positive and shows up with a smile ready to tackle each day. Alex was ALWAYS on time each morning, which is something we never took for granted. When Alex was pregnant, she coordinated all her doctor’s appointments around our schedule when possible and communicated them to us as soon as she knew. She was always respectful and thoughtful. I’ve already written a novel but could go on much longer about Alex if needed. We love her dearly and are grateful she has already watched the boys a time or two during her postpartum period. We are going to stay lifelong family friends for certain. I know Alex has tons of love and care to provide her next family, and whoever hires her will be so very fortunate.
