About Alexa

I'm Alexa, an enthusiastic, patient caregiver who greatly values respect, trust, and learning through exploration. At the moment I'm available for one-time care and occasional babysitting jobs! I have been caring for children full-time since October of 2018, primarily infant and early toddler-aged, and have maintained a steady babysitting network for over nine years. I also student-taught a Theater in Diversion course to middle schoolers to help clear their records of low-level juvenile offenses. I place great emphasis on truly getting to know each child that I meet so that they feel safe and ready to learn. My teaching style is rooted in the principles of Conscious Discipline and also follows a Reggio-inspired approach, using nature as a third teacher. I also have a Performing Arts degree and love to teach arts and crafts and fun songs! I am usually most easily found by following the sound of singing. I believe that the inclusion of the arts is essential to a well-rounded education.
