About Alexa

Hello my name is Alexa and I'm looking forward to working with your scholar! This is my 10th year working as a general and special education high school teacher. Over the past 10 years I have gained the experience and skills to support students with reading, writing and executive functioning skills. The last 5 years, I have been tutoring elementary-high school students in ELA, History, Science and any other humanities classes. My focus is to support them with homework, classwork and test studying strategies. The first part of my tutoring process is getting to know your child's needs. After understanding their performance in past years, I use specific reading, writing and organizational strategies to support them in homework and test help for their subjects. The goal of the skills and strategies that I teach is to work towards independence. I want students in my classroom and ones that I tutor to feel confident and have a pack of strategies when tackling any task in the classroom.
