About Alena

I started working with kids when I was very young. Family friends always looked to me during camping trips or family gatherings to help out and to later fully babysit as I got older which is when I discovered my love for caring for children. This passion was especially highlighted when I started volunteering at a camp through my school district that focused on special needs children. The bonds I made with them and seeing the direct impact I made on the kids' lives solidified caring for kids as a pivotal part of my life. When I'm not studying, I love to read. Growing up, I was homeschooled until seventh grade which gave me a larger amount of free time than other kids my age. I loved using this time to escape to other worlds through books and have carried that hobby throughout my life. I also love exploring outside! I just recently moved to Colorado this past August, so I love adventuring the cities and finding new places to go hiking.
