About Alanna

I grew up in a compassionate and caring family. My parents are both in the medical field, and when I was 9 years old my mother's parents came to live with us. My grandfather had Alzheimer, and my grandmother had a weak heart. Both of them had tremendous senses of humor that remained until they peacefully died at home with us. Through the 10 years they were with us, I helped my parents cook for them, bathe them, take them out to church and to get fresh air, spend quality time with them and listen to their stories. I learned to value the dignity of the human person in a new and meaningful way, and took these lessons with me into university. Since graduating I have worked as a therapy aid for a young woman recovering from a TBI, have worked extensively with children in school/after-care settings, and as a musician and speaker.
