About Alana

My name is Alana (but I usually go by Ali). I am a PhD student in Developmental Psychology at UNLV. I have 8 years of experience and I have watched ages 0-15, and I have over 100+ hours of experience with people with ADHD. In my spare time, I like to be outdoors, play guitar, do puzzles, crochet, and be around my friends and family. I also used to work at a science museum. My top 3 child care skills are patience, adaptability, and communication/active listening. I'm a very patient person and am able to work with kids where they're at. I am also very adaptable, being able to fit a child's needs. I'm happy to engage with children and their various hobbies, or be a point of support while they play independently. I have worked with kids who have various personalities, and I feel like I am pretty good at adjusting my strategy as needed. I am also good at communicating with children. I take the time to listen to them and help them process their ideas, emotions, and/or feelings.
