About Alaina

I grew up in the Midwest where my mother ran a day care out of our house until her youngest went to school. I was able to learn the basics of child care from my mother's daycare and the 9 year age difference between my little brother and I. After college, I move California for a year to be a live-in nanny for a family of 3. Live-In nanny tasks included Monday-Friday wake until bedtime, food, school pick-up drop-off, household tasks and school work. My experience includes childcare for ages 3mos to 21yrs including special need care. My childcare outlook is to encourage minimal screen time with active outside play and nature enrichment, indoor play at our local library and helping children improve skills and learning new ones. I additionally house sit and pet sit. I have had 4 pets at one time and was able to manage with lots of play time. In my free time I love to ski, paint, read, hike, and travel.
