About Alafia

Our family loves Alafia, and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a nanny/child care provider. We first met Alafia when she was one of the teacher's in our older child's preschool classroom. He instantly felt a connection with Alafia and was always excited to see her. Even when he was still feeling shy at school with other teachers, Alafia was always the one he would open up to, and she always had his special stuffie ready to give him hugs if he was feeling sad. Then we lucked out again when our younger kid moved up classrooms and got to be with Alafia, too! After Alafia left that position, we have remained in touch and she has babysat for our kids several times. She is one of the most thoughtful and engaged teachers/providers I have known, and my kids always love spending time with her. She not only has the professional background and training from early childhood education, but also has a calming, loving presence, connects with kids easily-and brings cool art supplies!
