For the past four years, I have worked with Akosua A., for a patient who is/has been bed bound for 10+ years. He has only limited movement while in bed and can sit up and transfer (with assistance) to a wheelchair and car ride. Difficulty with body movement can be a large problem unless you have someone like Akosua who has learned his movements and his strong points in helping with the transfer. She has a very smart mind and can figure out how to handle many situations. That combined with treating the patient with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect makes her a highly recommended care giver. Akosua willingly takes on new tasks, treatments and needed procedures and she is a quick learner who can provide these things with accuracy and knowledge.
