About Afton

Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the heart of my teaching practice. I have a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science and have spent the last year as a TA in college. I have helped students master writing skills, science, math, and sports/fitness concepts. I am also proficient in the Spanish language and have helped students develop foreign language skills from English to Spanish or Spanish to English. My approach focuses on building critical thinking and problem-solving skills through personalized strategies, such as visual aids and hands-on activities. I keep lessons engaging by connecting complex concepts to your personal interests or real-world examples. Because I value open communication, I prioritize regular check-ins with parents to ensure we are meeting your specific goals. I am available to tutor in your home, at my home, online, or at local libraries and schools. I truly look forward to supporting your academic journey and helping you succeed!
