With over two decades dedicated to senior care, my passion lies in fostering the well-being and independence seniors, and providing support for their caregivers. My career in long-term care, including 14 years supporting individuals with Alzheimer's and related dementias, has instilled in me the importance of person-centered care, a lesson reinforced by my personal experiences with my grandmother and step-father. I strive to be compassionate, empathetic, friendly, and detail-oriented in my approach. I communicate with families through written daily reports, regular updates via text or phone call, and by following your preferred method. Building trust is paramount, and I achieve this by learning about each person's history, interests, and what brings them joy. I am skilled in de-escalating stressful situations and redirecting attention, drawing upon my experience to find innovative solutions to behavioral changes.
