I have worked at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital for a little over a year now. We see kids with every medical complexity under the sun. Anything from kiddos who are vented and trached to kiddos who have feeding tubes or even kids with orthopedic related diagnoses. When working I spend a majority of my day starting feeds via G tubes; G/J tubes; NG tubes; or even feeding children in a high chair or by bottle. I also administer many medications throughout my shift! I take 3 assessments a day as well. Kids with special needs have ALWAYS held such a special place in my heart. We grew up with a family friend (very close with us) who had many different medical diagnoses. So kiddos like that have always just been something so special to me. I love seeing how these kids navigate life and just how special their outlook is!
