About Abby

I am an experienced NYC public school teacher with 8 years in kindergarten and 1st grade. I hold degrees from Syracuse University and Hunter College and am certified in General Education, Special Education, and Literacy (Birth-Grade 6). I have earned a Highly Effective rating and have a proven track record of helping students make meaningful academic gains. I have tutored students across elementary grades, using the Science of Reading to target phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension through structured, research-based instruction. I take pride in helping children build reading and writing skills while developing confidence and a strong sense of identity as learners. I offer personalized, engaging sessions tailored to each child's needs, with availability for after-school and summer tutoring to support reading growth. I am also experienced in both in-person and Zoom instruction.
