About Abbey

I'd describe my personality as positive, ambiguous, and patient. I like working with kids because they see the creativity and light in day to day life that most adults have forgotten about. I'm looking for a job that allows me to connect with children long term and make a difference in their lives. I started working with kids when I was just 15 years old as a figure skating coach. While earning my bachelor's degree I worked with ages K-5. Now I have a full time position teaching children ages 3-5! In my spare time, I like to take my dog on walks by the river, I enjoy getting back into the rink for a skating session or doing puzzles! One thing you should know about me is that I don't just see childcare or teaching as my job. I view it as an honor that I get to work with and support children throughout every phase of their lives. My skills include positive reinforcement as a behavior management strategy, empathy, and communication.
