I am a certified teacher with 5 years of classroom experience and 1 year of homeschool experience prior to that. I am LETRS certified and have studied the science of reading. I am perfect for students needing more time with phonics instruction, phonemic awareness, encoding and reading fluency. I am best suited for students aged 5-9. I am throughly familiar with the NC standard course of study and the Department of Public Instruction. I have worked with a range of students that I have developed individual lesson plans to suit their strengths and needs. I am not limited to students on "Tier 1" or core instruction and can take on children with 504s, IEDs or those with/seeking diagnosis for ASD (autism spectrum disorders). I speak conversational Spanish and utilize this with Multilingual Learners stemming from a Latine background. I can also help other students who are in a non-English speaking home to advance their Tier 1 language and vocabulary in English.
