Seeking care for my grandmother in her 80s. Services needed: bathing / dressing, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my grandmother: she can be pleasant, outgoing. She is a joy to be around but has trouble with mobility, hygiene, and self care. She is very cheerful even when she's in a lot of pain. If she's stressed it's because her pain levels are high. She is apologetic and kind, very rarely does she get grouchy. I'm looking for someone who is patient, firm, strong, fond of pets. Someone who is patient and tolerant. Someone who is uplifting and encouraging just like she is. Her 30 something year old grandson lives there with a big friendly dog. But someone who is firm and stands up for themselves is required. In case the dog needs to be handled or put away. She is terrible with her money but she enjoys being out and about around people. She struggles with making it to the restroom in time so pull-ups are helpful, and reminding her to use the bathroom before going or leaving is helpful as well. She also is in a lot of pain right now, so just helping her take her mind off of it would be nice, and helping her manage her hygiene and medication is crucial.
Right now she depends on myself and my auntie for rides to appointments. My grandpa cannot do much as he is not strong enough to help. She needs to be more active, heal her body, and have someone to help keep her clean, feeling good about herself, and notifying us of her needs so we can help as well.
