I have long admired teachers for their talent and dedication. I sought out tutoring jobs and spent three years as an assistant teacher in a Korean School. During there, I learned to not just teach, but to treat the students in a personal manner as well, to respect them yet reprimand them when needed. I daresay I had the knowledge enough to tutor; but this is where I realized the mindset needed for a truly outstanding teacher, instead of a robotic voice that reads out facts.
Should I be accepted for a job, I would like to get to know the students, to see what they like and what they are struggling on, and try to figure out exactly why they are the people they are. I would like to gain their trust, so that they could confide in me, both in study and in person. I would certainly aim for much progress, but I don't want to create a stressful environment; that is why I want to know the students while I teach them, so that I could find a style of learning best suited for them.
