We are looking for math tutoring for our 1st grade boy who is fun, silly and witty, in our home after school on Thursdays. We need help with catching him up with understanding his math material, and bringing confidence and enjoyment back into his learning process. It is almost as if he has a mental block some days, as he gets extremely frustrated and refuses to continue if he gets frustrated enough (which is understandable). His ability to focus definitely needs work, but we believe it has been worsened by the stress. Also, the right person can help bring him back to focus. His teacher is good at that, and we're grateful for her. It has been a challenging transition for him into his first year of big boy homework, and we need someone who is firm and experienced, but engaging and patient with him.
