Part-Time Teacher /Tutor

About the job

We are seeking a warm, flexible homeschool teacher or tutor to support our 10-year-old daughter, who is kind, polite, and eager to please. She is on medical leave while recovering from autoimmune encephalitis and needs gentle, engaging instruction in reading and math, taught in short bursts of 20-30 minutes with breaks as needed. Ideal candidates have experience in elementary education, special education, or educational therapy, and can use multisensory methods to build skills and confidence without pressure. We want to maintain her academic foundation while supporting her healing, emotional regulation, and love of learning. Schedule is 4-5 sessions per week, 2+ hours each, with flexible daytime hours (mornings preferred). In-person in Island Heights, NJ is preferred. Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.
