My son is 6 years old and will be entering 1st grade next school year. He has difficulty with blending phonemes, reading, math (adding and subtracting up to 20), writing, and comprehension. He knows all of his letters and their sounds. He can count to 100. He is currently mastering his rainbow sight words. He has an active IEP and a diagnosis of Autism (Level 1). He is a sweet, gentle, and kind boy; and does not present with any aggressive or maladaptive behaviors. He has reduced attention and benefits from prompts, repeated directions, and redirection to tasks. He is eager to please and benefits from positive reinforcement and praise.
