My daughter is very bright but reading has been such a struggle for her. She is in 2nd grade and can't yet read, and notices that her peers can. She is read to daily (always has been) and she loves books and stories (library is her favorite class at school!) but it's just not clicking for her. There's been lots of practice and not much improvement. Traditional practicing just isn't enough. She is ADHD, and I suspect she may be dyslexic too. It is present in our family and her reading test scores from last year present as dyslexia would. She's not officially diagnosed. I really need someone who has some expertise in working with neurodivergent kids and who has tools to help a kid who really want to learn to read, but can't get there on their own with traditional "sound it out" methodology. Thank you!
