We're looking for a thoughtful, experienced Algebra 1 tutor to help our 13-year-old son build stronger reading comprehension and problem-solving skills in math. He understands the algebra concepts but struggles with interpreting multi-step questions and making small mistakes that impact test scores. We're seeking someone who can: Work with him 1:1 (either in person near Sherman Oaks or via Zoom) Teach and reinforce strategies for carefully reading math problems Help him check his work and avoid careless errors Provide structured practice and feedback each session Ideal candidate: Background in middle school or early high school math tutoring Patient and encouraging teaching style Experience helping students with executive functioning or attention-to-detail skills is a plus.
