Benji is a 4-year-old black and white Irish pied Havanese with a long soft coat who is used to being brushed and combed daily and was groomed professionally for the first 3 years of his life. In the past year I have been grooming him as I have been sick & no longer drive. He is my service dog and very sweet, smart & funny however other then our daily walks and trips to doctors office or pharmacy his world has become much smaller than I would like. He is not used to being crated as he needs to be with me physically and is quite empathetic and sensitive to my illness & I dare say body chemistry. He does now since my last hospitalization seems to have short term separation anxiety because if he cant see me he cant help me. Its a conundrum when sometimes I want to see him running free in the woods or a nearby field.
