I am in Virginia, looking for a housekeeper for my elderly parents. Mother is 88 and she can no longer manage a house on her own. Both my parents have health issues--mom just broke her toe. They employ a handyman for heavy work. Mom has high standards for things being whistle clean. My mother does not handle any money or negotiations. My step father or I do that. Mom will direct the cleaner if anything needs to be done in addition to the regular stuff. The house is fairly well maintained, but it needs attention weekly (or every other week) so that my mother does not try to do the work herself.
