He grew up in Poughkeepsie New York. Mike has been playing guitar, bass and drums for the last 46 years and at attended Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA from 1976 -1980, majored in Professional music. Mike has been teaching in the Fresno Area since 1986 at various music stores. He moved to Fresno in 1984 to join the Christian band, Omega Sunrise where he recorded and toured with them for 2 years. He and his wife, Anne settled in Fresno after he got off the road in 1986. Mike then started teaching locally and joined the ranks of talented musicians in the Central Valley in various venues and is to this day one of the distinctive notables in the community of musicians. Currently, Mike is in the following ensembles: Jazz Quartet, Out of Nowhere ? Lead and Rhythm Guitar Groove Monkey ? Electric Bass On the Fly ? Electric Bass The Old Guys ? Lead Electric Guitar Formal Education: Berklee College of Music 1976 - 1980 Graduate Professional Music diploma Performing Experience: I performed in many venues, small and large; recorded with Christian artist Ed Anderson 77-78; Michael Kelly Blanchard "A Common Thread" 1983; Omega Sunrise "Run from the Night" 1985. I recorded with various local artists from Fresno and Central Valley CA Perform in multiple bands locally. Experience Teaching: I have given private instruction of guitar, bass and occasional drum lessons from when I was in high school to the present.
