Here he began basic drumset and percussion training, which quickly became his passion, and evolved into a love for making music. This newfound sense of purpose would lead him to leave his native Costa Rica and enroll at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, where he would discover two new skills: recording and producing. After completing a robust coursework that included music theory, arranging, composition, and sound engineering classes, Rick received his Bachelor's of Music in Commercial Music in 2007. While completing his degree, Rick also taught drumset lessons and continued composing and performing as a drummer with many local musicians which gave him invaluable insight into music production. Upon completion of his degree, Rick relocated to New York City. Since arriving in NYC, he has had the opportunity to work on a vast range of projects, from engineering on foreign language dubbing jobs, to producing of a full length latin-jazz album, with some sound design and composition projects in between. Rick's bi-cultural upbringing coupled with his academic and life experience have given him a broad understanding of what it takes to work at a high level, assets which he brings to any project, no matter his role. Additionally, he often works as a live and/or session drummer for several artists here in New York City. In 2009, Rick started Man From Nowhere Productions, a small music audio production company based out of Astoria, Queens. His company offers a broad range of services, from music recording and production, to ADR and foreign language voice-over work in an array of languages. Through a network of resources, including their project studio in Queens, several studios in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and a database of over 400 vetted voice talent in 50+ languages, Man From Nowhere Productions is able to offer options for clients to fit almost any budget. Some of his recent projects include 2 Spanish language PSA's, and Swing en 4's upcoming 4th album, "Zumba que zumba". * Formal Education: Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music from Shenandoah University, in Winchester Virginia, 2007.
