I (Captain Matt) along with my crew member take our guests out for an incredible experience on the waters in and around Sitka Sound viewing the breathtaking scenery and enjoying diverse wildlife encounters! You may see many if not all of the following wildlife, Humpback whales, Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, Ravens, Bald eagles, shearwaters, cormorants, 2 types of puffins, and many other sea birds too numerous to mention. Bears are regularly viewed in the late summer early fall, and occasionally viewed in the spring. As I have had a long career commercial fishing in Southeast Alaska, I give unique insight into the local fishing industry. Both my crew and I will also enlighten you on local history and life in Sitka. To ensure your experience is genuine, my crew is always either one of my family, or a local hire that truly knows Sitka. We live it year round!!

We are an all-women, non-profit volunteer group that live and work in Sitka. Since 1969 the New Archangel Dancers have promoted Alaska as a visitor destination by sharing their knowledge of Sitka's Russian History and their pride in Alaska. The Dancers' success and notoriety have been enhanced by regular guest performances at the opening of new Alaska Airlines terminals, at Alaska Governors' inaugural celebrations, and at various dance festivals, tourism trade shows, conferences, and public events. In addition to performing throughout the "lower 48," the dancers have performed to enthusiastic audiences in Hawaii, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Meet expert aquarist Matt Wilson and join him for a hands-on encounter with the cool, the wet, and the slimy by spending two hours as a member of the aquarium staff. Matt is a professional biologist who has a rare zest for strange and often overlooked creatures like jellyfish that make up so much of our ocean. Practice your observation skills, try your hand at preparing food and feeding animals, or even assist in animal healthcare. Activities will vary based on the real needs of the animals in our aquarium. SAFETY NOTES: Recommended for ages 8 and up. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Due to the historic nature of our building, this experience is NOT fully ADA accessible. Participants should be able to climb stairs and stand for the duration of the experience.
