You will also hear stories about the heroic citizens who sacrificed everything to assist the soldiers. You will walk past houses and buildings and hear stories about what it was like to be a soldier and a civilian during those three seminal days in July.

During your hour-long excursion, you will listen to your hostess recount stories of Union wagon trains which stretched for miles along Baltimore Pike, venture to the haunted pond which lays below "the Lost Avenue", or as historian call it, "Neill Avenue". General Neill's brigade occupied these woods until July 5th, 1863, his mission, to guard the right flank of the Union Army and more importantly, protect Baltimore Pike. For the soldiers stationed here, the Lost Avenue was about snipers in the shadows, skirmishes in the woods, and withering gun fire from the woods, fields, and behind stone walls which killed or wounded more than 20 Union soldiers. During your haunted farm tour, we invite you to use ghost hunting equipment, toast a marshmallow or two, and experience the untouched landscape where soldiers once roamed. Beyond the battlefield's thunder, this quiet home whispers the poignant, personal tragedy of Gettysburg's only civilian casualty—a life extinguished mid-morning by a stray bullet. Just 20 years old at the time of the Battle, Jennie was kneading dough in the kitchen when a rifle bullet pierced two doors and claimed her life. Artifacts from that fatal day in 1863 are on display as well, including the artillery shell that punctured the roof of the house and a floorboard with Jennie’s blood still on it.
