My mother saw that I had a talent and she began teaching me and then I was sent to a private music teacher who trainedme in the classical music. I would play piano at my elementary school, and became playing the flute, violin and drums in high school. I went on to college with scholarship in music to California State University of Los Angeles. But, all of sudden my interest changed and I became acertified baker after training, and opened a bakery that was successful for about 7 years. But, I always would play the piano. Even if it was for myself. I began writing and composing music by age 14 and had music copywritten. I taught piano for about 4 years and had 12 students a month. I got married and moved away and then had a baby about 15 years ago. Now my daughter is 15 years old. I love to teach children music; they bring a freshness of learning. I have helped young men start rock bands, and we have traveled to entertain children in concerts from Fresno, Ca to Redding Ca. I have lead music bands in churches and weddings. Schools nowadays don't teach the children the basic of music, such as time signature, scales...etc... That is too bad! Music is the essence of your soul. The light of love and peace. Recently I won song of the year runner up VH-1 for a song that I wrote composed called Calm Anxiety. I am going to Ireland in March of 2011 to do a charity cd for Irish Lebanon Project. Worship leader for 9 years at Harvest Christian Center, and 4 years at Cornerstone Church in Red Bluff. Worship team at Neighborhood Church. I play music for the Jesus Center in Chico, CA. I play classical music; Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Sibelius for weddings and funerals. I do not teach religious music unless asked too. I will be performing in Ireland next year Feb 2011 for a charity concert. I will be doing a christmas concert this year at the JC with a band. Experience Teaching: I have been teaching music for about 8 years. I started in 1990 to 1994. I got married in 1994 and had a daughter in 1995. I started teaching children and adults how to start a band and basic rhythm techiques in 2001. I was patient enough to teach ADHD children music and how to stay focus on what notes or chords they were reading and what they feel. I started an all boys band of teens with purple hair and piercings and nose rings and yet they still play music to this day. I started band with ADHD children and adults as well.

I began in Susanville, CA teaching as many as seven students at one time, moved to Chico in June of 2010 and now I have gained a few more. I have worked with over a dozen individuals that have excelled under my tutelage. I love music and I love helping people gain the self-confidence to unlock their potential. * Formal Education: True North Academy, highschool Diploma Lassen College, GE Butte College, Graphic Design Private Education: 2.5 years of private guitar and music theory lessons from a professional guitarist and music graduate (Douglas Sheehy in Susanville, CA). Performing Experience: I was the guitarist/singer for rock band The Limbic System (myspace.com/thelimbicsystemmusic) for 3.5 years. Iplayed locally at youth centers, parties, as well as the Lassen COunty Fair Mainstage. Toured California and parts of Nevada. I have played several shows as a solo act as well. I've played acoustic gigs at coffee shops and lounges, as well as pop/rock shows playing my songs electric to a live bass/drum track. I have released one EP with a band, one full-length solo album, and one solo EP. Experience Teaching: I began teaching guitar when I was 16 years old when a mother of an 11 and 7 year old wanted her sons to learn guitar. From there, I taught other children, retired folk, middle-aged, as well as a few people around my age. I have developed a regimented teaching style starting with the basics (guitar anatomy, how to hold the guitar, etc.) to move on to more advanced things like the chromatic scale theory, finger picking, tone, and so on.
