Step back in time and unlock the secret's of Belhaven's grandest estate. The River Forest Manor invites you to an exclusive, guided insider's tour, a journey through the property's rich history, architecture and folklore. Your experience begins at the carriage entrance, where your expert guide will greet you. As you cross the threshold, the very air seems to hum with stories of bygone eras. You will have the opportunity to photograph and experience hte history of the property's soaring ceilings, intricate woodwork, and stunning details that have been the backdrop for countless gatherings and celebrations over its 125 year history. Your guide will illuminate the history of the families who have called it home, starting with the opulence and grandeur that defined the Gilded Age. You'll learn social customs of the era and the manor's role as a hub for the elite. Unlike standard tours, you will be granted access to areas normally closed to the public.

You will meet us at the Historic River Forest Manor. The house was started in 1899 and completed in 1903. Many famous people over the years have visited the Manor and we will be glad to tell you about some. From there we will leave in our 15 passenger Mercedes van and provide you some history along the way. You will have many opportunities to stop and take photos, sightsee, as well as view wildlife. Eastern North Carolina has the largest concentration of black bears in the world! Come join us for a couple of hours or for the day and enjoy the backroads of Eastern North Carolina.
