Beginner (age 4+)

Focusing on composition, color theory, and values, this class allows students to experiment with various medium techniques, including clay, watercolor, mixed media, acrylic, and tempera. 60 minutes. Ages 4-6. THIS WEEK: In this week's class we’re celebrating earth day while we learn about the american pop artist Keith Haring. Haring used his graffiti inspired art to spread awareness for various social causes and believed art should be accessible to all. Similarly, this beautiful planet we call home is meant to be shared in harmony with all its inhabitants, and what better way to spread this holiday's message than with art? Students will reproduce Haring’s expressive yet simplistic style with color blocking, exercising control as they learn useful application techniques. With a strong focus on shape and design, their strokes will transform into a message of gratitude and shared wealth for our beloved earth.
