In this week's class, we’ll be celebrating the art of RC Gorman... a highly acclaimed Navajo artist known for his depictions of native women. Influenced by nature and Navajo tradition, Gorman's art liberates paint with fluid forms and bold color choices, borrowing from both Mexican and Western techniques to redefine indigenous art in the states. Students will recreate Gorman’s Navajo woman with watercolor and pastel, learning about color and pattern to achieve a bold statement with a simple form. Perfect class for children ages 7-9 years old. 90-min class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our intermediate classes throughout the school-year! Join us on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday each week... or whenever it's convenient for you! We do the same project each of those days for each week, and then something new for the next week!
