In this all day Field Trip students get to explore fashion through a fiber and textile lense. This special camp is ideal for sewing and fashion enthusiasts interested in investigating the many different textiles available to the home sewist and seeing different levels of garment construction exhibited in demi-couture and ready-to-wear clothing. We will visit the world famous Britex Fabrics in Union Square for an educational tour with 20% off the day of camp, go inside Jennifer's favorite couture fashion houses and lunch together somewhere special. Bring your notebooks, students, and let's get inspired.

Jennifer Serr
Instructor
Jennifer Serr is Owner and Lead Instructor at The Sewing Room. An Alameda mom with over 20 years in the fashion industry. Jennifer is also Owner and Lead Designer at Bonjour Teaspoon Patterns - A sewing pattern company specializing in "Classic Style for the Modern Girl & Her Doll". After an apparel industry career with Gap Inc. specializing in pattern making, garment construction & fitting, Jennifer spent the last two decades teaching fashion, sewing and pattern making to students school age through college level.

My private lesson with Julie Ann Brown was just what I needed it to be—extremely informative, hands-on, and fun. She did a great job of covering a whole lot of ground in what felt like a very relaxed pace. I learned a ton without getting overwhelmed.
