Calvary Christian Preschool & Daycare is a small faith based preschool in Tempe. We offer quality care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Each of our teachers is personally invested in each of our families. This is more than a job to these women, but a ministry to serve and care for those within the center. Calvary is currently going through the quality first program and gearing up to receive our star rating within the next few months. Going through this process has allowed us to receive one on one coaching in the classroom to help equip our teachers in all scenarios with the children. This has been an amazing experience that is only bettering our teachers in their care for the children. We are located on the North East corner of Southern and Price in Tempe. As you walk in the front doors you will be greeted with music and a comfortable place to sit as you fill out tour paperwork. There is a reading corner as well for your kiddos as you engage in conversation with our office staff. You will notice our center has a home like atmosphere, our desire is to bring the warmth of home to the classroom as to help make the transition more smooth for each child. Our front door requires a door code to enter for the safety of the children and staff. In addition we have another door that requires a door code to enter the hallway of the classrooms. You will notice that each class has the feeling of peace and calm in its decor, but don't mistake that for not having fun, the squeals of the children will reveal that. We believe in learning through play, and allowing these kiddos to be kiddos, exploring, learning and using their imagination each day. Calvary is a screen free center. What does that mean you might ask? That means that we do not use a screen to educate or babysit your child. Our staff all understand that they are there to keep your children's attention and engage with them during the day. With that said our staff do utilize tablets through out the day to keep you up to date on how your child's day is going. We use a program called procare to update you with pictures (who doesn't love to see pictures of their child through out the day), how much your child ate at lunch, if they napped etc. You can also message the teachers during the day if you have questions or just wanting to check in. Calvary Christian Preschool & Daycare is a state licensed center and is contracted with DES. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to offer quality first scholarships as well.
