Experienced College Nanny Seeking Employment During The School Year
I am currently seeking employment in Wahpeton, ND or Breckenridge, MN area during the school year. I can provide before school, after school, evenings and weekends care, including short notice. I have 9 years of experience as a paid babysitter and nanny, and have also babysat my brother who is 7 years younger after school and during the summers. I have worked the past five summers as a nanny, and worked part time during the school year 3 times a week and weekends as a babysitter. I have watched infants ages 3 months old up to 15 years old (special needs), and families with 1 to 4 children. I have also volunteered as a Special Olympics aquatic instructor with two young girls, and as a teacher for a classroom of 18 second graders for faith formation. I have 2 1/2 years of experience working in group homes with developmentally disabled persons. I also have worked as a PCA providing in-home services the past two summers. I supported an adult with MS, a teenage boy and a teenage girl with autism, a 9-year-old boy with autism and a 5-year-old girl with Down syndrome and ADHD. I am very friendly and love babies and children! I also love pets! I had a background study completed in June 2015, CPR and First Aid updated in 2015. The past two summers, I have worked a full-time overnight position at a group home in Chaska, and in 2013, I worked at two group homes in Chaska on call. I will support you with maintaining your family's priorities, but will do this by empowering the children to help make choices on schedules, activities, chores, menu, and etc., to the degree possible. I will help blend responsibilities with fun and engaging, creative activities. I love music (I was in band in high school and college), and days can be full of music, games, art and crafts, water fun, sports, cooking and baking, and community activities/outings as you have approved or scheduled. I am dependable, punctual, and hardworking. I take your trust in me very seriously, and will do all that I can to help to engage your children to have a fun and memorable time while in my care. While I am reliable and responsible, I am also very easygoing and good-natured and truly enjoy caring for children and laughing together! I am Medication Administration Certified and also certified as a PCA and worked as a PCA in 2014 and 2015 in the summers. I have taken coursework for early child development in high school & college. I taught 18 second graders for 9 months (1.25 hours each week) as a volunteer faith formation instructor through our church. I also volunteered as a Special Olympics Aquatics coach, coaching two young girls with their swimming. I have volunteered as a Summer Stretch Assistant, working with middle school-aged children and as a Bible Camp Leader working with grade school-aged children. I am on the Campus Activities Board at college, this is my third year in this leadership role.
